I had it with the grain soakers on the other site. The guy with 5 minute conversion, fast lagering and other types of brewing procedures that would only produce beer if the brewery was in Narnia, was enough for me. I liked to zing Denny and the others that think that the guy is a guru. His experiments with single infusion verses decoction were hilarious. Anyone can produce moonshiners malt liquor and name it after a world class beer. I think that the brewers on this site are focused on producing a product that can be called real beer. Stable, clean, not imbalanced and with the ability to be properly aged. The definition of beer hasn't been altered on this site. I applaud the brewers who have stuck with it, gaining experience through countless hours of hard work and frustration all to gain the prize of producing fine beer. Fine job fellow brewers. I offer my assistance, and I will ask for assistance from fellow brewers.

Re: Member Bios - tell us about yourself
Hey guys,
i'm a homebrewer and engineer from Germany. I'm into brewing for nearly ten years now, done a lot of 10-20L batches and am now in the process of upgrading to about 40L (~10 gal.). I have gone trough a lot of processes like BIAB, Grainfather-Style automation, decoction, 3 vessel-system in different constellations etc. In the beginning i started with tradtional beer styles from Germany like Weissbier, Kölsch or Pilsener, but as there was a lot to discover and not available in Germany back then, i switched to a lot of british and american beer styles (and other). At this time i think i have tried to brew most styles out there in my interest, even sourbeers are aging in my cellar. For quite some time i'm back to traditional german styles. For some reason, a lot german homebrewers tend to brew ales from the so called "craft-beer hype", so i´m grateful to find a source of people dedicated to german beer styles. I do keg most of my beer, some special or smaller batches are bottled.
For now, a lot of stuff to read for me. Hoping to have a good time here.
Cheers

I'm born and live in West-Germany right now, in the area of Cologne/Düsseldorf. In the "not so far away" future i'm probably going south

I gained a love for beer on my annual short Vacations to Munchen, Koln, Praha and Pilsn after I finished University. I had never experienced beer like "That" and eventually set out to get as close as I could at home in Boston.
I have a Biology/Medical background and like to use my hands and experiment. I am something of a detail oriented perfectionist, but have two young children and a busy career so it is held somewhat in check. I began by reading and researching as much as I could and have gone from a Turkey fryer setup and cooler to a 20 Gallon 3 vessel electric brewery, stainless temp controlled conicals, a 25 gallon wine barrel lambic solera, and a 6 tap tower basement bar. The "Hobby" is well out of control.
I get great pleasure tweeking recipes, sharing my beer and striving to improve upon it and I feel like this will be a like minded community to learn from and give back to. Now for the next step in my evolution!!
