My favorite places to drink German beer in order of awesomeness...
San Francisco- Suppenküche: big selection on tap, really great food and the bartenders very knowledgeable about the beers.
Portland- Stammtisch: 10 German taps if I remember correctly and the food really good too.
Daytona Beach- Mr Dunderbak's: Awesome little place, in the mall so your GF can shop while you drink. Love it !
Portland- Prost: 14 taps if I remember right.
Spokanne- Das Stein Haus: 10 taps, nice owner.
Milwaukee- Mader's Restaurant: Remember it because they had Staropramen on tap.
Denver- Helgas: pretty good selection of beer and decent food
Miami- Schnitzel Haus

Grunaer in Kansas City is an Austrian restaurant where I've never had a stale beer. They have a huge range of German beers on tap.
