Do you have to necessarily reach boiling temperature or could you try say 204°f or even 200°f

You need to provide enough energy for substances like DMS to evaporate. Failing this you may get unwelcome surprises.

The small vessel size that initially works against the pico-brewer now works to his advantage. The much larger proportionally exposed surface area provides for favourable evaporation and thus the boil times can be reduced by a good 30%.

For very bright styles it is desirable to boil as shot as possible, bit no shorter (to paraphrase the famous A Einstein)

A good ballpark is a gentle rolling boil (usually 100C) and 60 minutes to start with.

You need to find what works best for you and your system.

I have found with a lightest steady simmer on my kettle I can't boil off less than 3/4 gal per hour.

I knew my water loss and boil off were going to change but I have that adjusted and ready to go for the next batch. Everything went as expected or better this past brewday. I'm hoping for my first drinkable lager, all the rest have been substandard, and I dumped it all (6 cases, and 2 kegs, and 2 fermentors full of beer) in lue of starting over.

Not sure If i mentioned this before, I never did extract brewing or anything, I went straight down the rabbit hole into all grain brewing, after 4 batches brewed I was recommended to check this place out, so when I say I'm new to brewing, you know what I mean.
