I can't say enough how I loved this beer. I'm not (well, wasn't) a fan of Hefeweizen, until I brewed this recipe. Delicious! I brewed it this past spring, enjoyed some, then went to Germany for three weeks. To me, this totally held up against German versions.

A more fresh (read:younger) version.

Does carawheat have a place in a hefe grist?
Would you use it at 1-2% like other caramalts in other german beers? Or, is carawheat made for use in a dunkelweiss?

I don't use carawheat in any recipes personally.

How did the melanoidin malt work out in the hefe you originally posted?

My most recents do not have it in it, if that is any indicator
