I live an hour away from victory brewery in Downingtown pa. And I have tried prima pils, it's okay (FOR AN AMERICAN BEER IN MY OPINION) but I still don't like it.

I live 10 minutes away from Victory Brewing in Downingtown, PA, and I find Prima Pils to be an ok beer, but not "German". Victory Lager (Helles) falls into the same category. I put Pivo in the same category as FW Pivo Pils.

I do like Victory's Dunkel, though.

I wonder if it's a water issue with them. It's a fairly common experience when using highly carbonate water that helles and pilsner are hard to pull off, whereas dunkel does well.

Could play a part - can't speak for the dunkel but in my opinion Prima is not a bad beer, it's just very aggressively hopped for the style. Their festbier drinks like a sack of grain. According to their site it's all vienna and munich which could be why.
