Seems like the equivalent of adding vodka to wort instead of yeast. Alcohol is alcohol, right?

The macro brewery is going to put the winning recipe on the market in a "limited edition". But that will take at least a year I guess. And it's going to have been made with the same techniques. I don't like their beers at all ;)

A comparison between a kettle soured gose and one with added acid to the same final ph would be interesting. I suspect you would miss some flavors from esters etc. http://sourbeerblog.com/understanding-esterification/
