Can you tell me what parts you used to attach the locline to the cap? Is it just a standard stainless bulkhead?

It's all 1/2" NPT fittings, works fine direct to stainless. I used a standard bulkhead male/male in my mash tun (kettle).

(apologies if I mis-state something...my brain has melted it's summer and I'm bottling honey. Haven't brewed in a month and a half now.)

Yes, all ½" NPT. For a variety of reasons I used spare parts instead of a real bulkhead fitting. Here's the exploded view:

I believe the circle flow kit I bought didn't come with the elbow, the NPT adapter, or the NPT coupling (blue), so I ordered those separately.

Thanks. This is what I was expecting, but the photo helps me visualize it. Is the elbow necessary? Or can you get enough angular adjustment with the Loc-Line flow kit? I'm building my mash cap next week.

In my case, trying to make the turn just with the circle flow kit would have been too gradual, placing the rest of the assembly too deep in the tun. I could imagine it being possible in some systems. Unfortunately, I'm headed out of town right after work, but maybe somebody on the forum can quote you the flow kit's tightest possible radius.

How did you connect the silicon tube together? Just a double hose barb and clamps?

These are professional stainless lids for fermentation tanks of variable capacity.

there is a bug in the english localisation, so switch to German if you want to see the drop down menu of available sizes. If you are outside the EU zone, then there is probably a manufacturer in your region providing a similar product.

hope this inspires.

I have seen these before with wine variable capacity tanks. Don't know that I have seen any VC tanks very close to homebrew kettle sizes though.
