The Cornical and The Brite Tank

I checked both of those out at the HBC.

The issue I see with the Cornical is that at some point you have to turn it upside down, undo the clamp to remove the conical bottom, and then attach the corny keg bottom. You'd be exposing the surface of the beer to the atmosphere during the time it takes you to switch out the bottoms and re-clamp. Maybe there's some creative workaround for that? It could be nice for non-lodo brewing though if you had a fermentation fridge/chamber that could accommodate its height. Personally, I'm sticking with my SS Brewbucket.

The SS Brite Tank looked pretty slick, though I'm not clear on whether the advantages it purports to offer over a corny keg are really worth anything to me. It holds 10 gallons, but it's pretty wide. For someone with a different setup than mine, it might be pretty desirable. I should have asked whether the PRV on top can be adjusted. Maybe it can, or maybe you can swap it out with one that is - for spunding purposes.

Looks a lot like the adjustable PRV we are using for the spunding set up.

My issue is that it has a max PSI of 15. If you were spunding a weissbier at room temp, you need to get over 25PSI to properly carbonate, so the corny keg is still the best option for that.

It would work nice as a lagering tank, and the carbonation stone is a nice touch.

Did not see the SS. The main problem with the Blichmann is headspace during fermentation.

The keg is 5 gallons. If I recall correctly the conical bottom adds about 2 more gallons. Accounting for half to three quarters of a gallon of residue your headspace is a bit more than a gallon during fermentation. Too little for most ales, specially weizen yeast.

I agree. Should work for lagers but space wise it is taller than most fermenters so it may not fit in current systems, not in mine at least.
