I use two 5-gallon cornies. I keep looking for something better, but I keep not finding it.

They make 10 gallon cornies, but they have gotten pricey, even used.

Are they more expensive than SS brew buckets?

I like the 6.5 gallon keg so far because it fits my keg freezer form factor and size. I'd love to get a conical, but then I'd need to get a new fridge/freezer for it. The keg is also handy because I can play around with pressure, hit it with some CO2 if I need to and do an entirely closed transfer.

Sounds like it would be cheaper and easier to adapt a half barrel.

It's just a false bottom. The recirc comes in via the middle port.
