So far this thing works pretty well. There is a way to graph the plots for a trend but you have to be a computer engineer to figure it out.
The Kölsch was unaware I was watching it.

I've been wondering about that thing. If it works well, I would be interested.

After using the bruometer for a couple batches I find it to be unreliable as a way to track gravity. It wanders all over the place during the course of fermentation and was often .015 different from actual SG. Oh well at least the temperature function seemed to be accurate. Anyone want to buy a $100 used floating thermometer?

I think the co2 bubbles and or resins are sticking to the housing and causing the error because it works perfectly in water. I was really hoping I could use it to time transfers to keg, but there is no way.

I really don't think things need to be THAT accurately timed, although it's an interesting project

Usually they degas the samples when they measure them professionally.

You weren't using this when you had high fg batches were you?

It's true I'm still not getting the attenuation I want, but don't understand how that would make a difference in the bruometers readings not coming close to what the hydrometer says. It is reasonably priced compared the other brewing gadgets we all buy so give it a try. Maybe someone else will have better luck then I did with it. It's definitely easy to use, just plop it in the fermenter. One thing though for fellow ss brew bucket users. Through the stainless it has only about a one meter range for reception of signal.
