Leinenkugels, Hofbrau Munchen collaboration 150 year anniversary brew. German malt, American Mosaic hops, 5.4 ABV, 25 IBU. Both breweries are brewing the same recipe,
this one is from Munich and is very tasty!

I've really been enjoying these. Beautiful hop profile, flowers and spices.

Not sure about this one. I'm guessing there are some errors on the label.

There is a huge error on the label indeed ;)

  • It cannot be brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot since it specifically prohibits the use of wheat for beer brewing
  • It violates Bavarian copyright law since they are not allowed to label a product "Oktoberfest" when not from Munich. Ayinger cheekily calls one of theirs October Fest-Bier -- which means it's a fest beer for October, and thus didn't violate the law.

A quick verification on the German Site of Erdinger will show you that this product is not sold in Germany. It is purely for the export market where they know full well people suck up everything remotely similar to the famous festivities in Munich, unable to make the distinction.
