Weihenstephaner Pilsner

Postby Big Monk » Thu Jun 09, 2016 10:17 pm

Pretty fresh. My interpretation of the bottling code says 3rd week of Februrary 2016.

I cracked the bottle and took a whiff...it made me a little lightheaded. Maybe I was euphoric. This seems to happen when I get a real fresh lager.

Great aroma. Poured with a nice persistent, thick white head. Great malt flavor and hop bitterness. This was fresher than the first WO I tasted but I still dig the WO a bit more. An excellent beer.

I'm partial to their hefeweizens (especially the Vitus) so I'm going to give it a try.

Got my hands on some fresh pils. Dry, little to no cara sweetness, floral bold hop aromas( bordering on slight skunk), slight sulfur. Nice easy bitterness. Low gravity and easy drinking.. Loved it.
