This is a huge favorite of mine. Low bitterness of course with a real rich malt flavor, including real tasty light roast and cocoa notes. I actually prefer these with a bit more age on them.

That's been my experience with competitions as well. Some people just prefer the older, oxidized flavors.

They are impressive. No soy sauce, no dog kibble or meaty flavors. No oxidized melanoidin overload. I was on the fence regarding dopplebock bc most of what you buy off the shelf is badly oxidized. But fresh, wow....
