Weissbier Dunkel

Some friends and I recently tried four of these beers side by side. We discovered we had roughly two types of Dunkles Weissbier. The first two examples below were light copper in color and caramely with plenty of yeast character. The latter two were a deeper mahogany in color, less hazy, and had rich, complex toffee notes. Here are my very brief notes.
## Ayinger Ur-Weisse
- banana, caramel
- bit metallic
- effervescent
- fig notes
- low clove
- light copper color, hazy
## Weihenstephaner Weissbier Dunkel
- not as highly carbonated
- aromas muted, with even more of a metallic note
- dry, sessinable
- light copper color, hazy
## Kloster Andechs Weissbier Dunkel
- very rich aroma
- clear
- mahogany body
- toffee notes, burnt caramel
- roasty
- very low banana/clove compared to previous beers but some bubblegum
## Erdinger Weissbier Dunkel
- cloudy, dark mahogany
- aroma of malted milk, chocolate
- rich caramel, chocolate flavor
- low yeast character
- creamy
