Milling is a very big contributor to malt oxidation. In my books, it's the biggest contributor bar dissolved oxygen in mash liquor.
Sadly, a dispersion mills such as the Meura (I really like this company) Hydromill is a notch out of my budget.

Why not mill directly into the mash tun? That's my next mini project is making a temp lid for the mill to rest on while I crush into the mash tun, while it has CO2 flowing up from under the false bottom.

Even when set up with a motor it's possible to mill straight into the tun. I did that for years until recently. It will revert pretty soon .

Did you set it up with an auger? I have been playing with the idea to do some sort of DIY chain augur for years now.

Hmmm, why do you think that's needed?
One can do all sorts of DIY projects. In my case, a wooden board with the mill over the mash tun filled with water is sufficient.
I do have the agitator running gently. This prevents clumps.
