So you have a rectangular cooler? We may make something similar. I guess you want the foam so it floats? I wonder if aluminum has any negative effects oxygen-wise. A kettle I use on my smaller setup is aluminum.
Re: the tape/glue, could you just wrap non-adhesive foil on the contact side and affix it to the non-contact side?

The most recent addition to my brewing operation is a keg & carboy cleaner.
It has nothing about it that's lodo, but it gets things clean.
I got a sump pump & PVC/brass parts, from our local hardware store.
I drilled the PVC piping with several holes, to create a shower effect.
I also used some of my spare ball-lock disconnects, to allow circulation through the gas & liquid keg connections.
The vertical/drilled pipe above the brass barbs is removable, so I can add different attachments or a plug, if needed.
