The most common impurity in copper tubing is zinc. When the yeast remove Fenton-like cations, then they are not available to react with oxygen downstream.

LODO and copper chiller
Most of the Fenton-like metals are essential nutrients for Sacc. Tons of papers out there on zn/cu/fe pathways, uptake and regulation in yeast.
