Auber EZ-boil
Not sure how many of you are using PID control for your systems, but found this last night searching for the unit for my new brewery setup:

Very simple to use. Knob/push switch combo selects mash or boil mode. Dial sets temp in mash mode and percentage in boil mode.

Re: Auber EZ-boil
Well I pulled the trigger on the EZ-boil and am on the waiting list. I've got some other parts on the way and my assembly for my lodo system should start sometime soon.
I'm going to run some tests before brewing to dial in my losses and then it's Helles time.

Sorry I have not seen this. The PID should work for you(I run one as well), but phase angle is where it's at. Look into avatar instruments dp30 or something like that. I ran one years ago and it was great. I fucking hate my PID pulses. The boil coil smoothed it out, but still.... But it's the only way to go for automation, so alas I am stuck. What element are you running?

I'm actually going to be running a Waring Pro SB30 1300w burner:
It's a small burner with a 7" diameter plate but my MLT will be 12 qt. with a 9 5/8" diameter and my BK will be 8 qt. with an 8 3/4" diameter so overhang will be minimal.
My batch size of choice will be 1.2 gallon for < 1.050 beers and 1 gallon for higher gravity.

Cool, I automated my induction. But it wasn't easy. So I was going to advise against that

It's actually a pretty robust feeling unit and I got it for $20 as a factory refurb so it has the advantage of having whatever manufacturing defects that would have presented themselves already do so. I'm looking forward to using it.
