Spunding and Serving

Spunding and Serving
So first time spunder here, but two questions:
a.) do we need to build a spunding valve or can we just vent the spunding kegs occasionally (particularly if we are planning to force carb) the issue here is that we are brewing 12-18 gallons of finished beer and would need them on several kegs.
b.) if spunding/naturally carbonating in keg, do others have clarity issues with the first several pours? This stuff is likely going to go quickly as it is...

A-yes you need a valve, unless you time transfer perfectly.
B-yes- no different from gelatin.

ha, yea i was talking through it with Bryan, and he eventually said, "umm, these things are like $20." At which point I realized this is kind of a useless analysis...so this entire post can be deleted!
We're buying a few on our next order, we need to replace one of our pumps anyway.
