Re: Sulfite Strip Test
Milling is a very big contributor to malt oxidation. In my books, it's the biggest contributor bar dissolved oxygen in mash liquor.
Sadly, a dispersion mills such as the Meura (I really like this company) Hydromill is a notch out of my budget.

Why not mill directly into the mash tun? That's my next mini project is making a temp lid for the mill to rest on while I crush into the mash tun, while it has CO2 flowing up from under the false bottom.

Even when set up with a motor it's possible to mill straight into the tun. I did that for years until recently. It will revert pretty soon .

Did you set it up with an auger? I have been playing with the idea to do some sort of DIY chain augur for years now.

Re: Sulfite Strip Test
Hmmm, why do you think that's needed?
One can do all sorts of DIY projects. In my case, a wooden board with the mill over the mash tun filled with water is sufficient.
I do have the agitator running gently. This prevents clumps.
