No, this is not a pale malt only beer, no carapils and 4ebc base malt.. There are other malts in there. Now-a-days I get little to no color pickup from process. I am seeing like a 25-30%+ color reduction with process enhancements as of late. Filtering seems to make a difference as well.

Are you converted to ferment cold then? I remember having to twist your arm back then to give it a shot. Not that's the only way to do things, but for our scale it is stil a very good starting point.

Ah, indeed there are a few more tricks to flavor loading and layering without sacrificing that really bright color. Some of the finer points in Narziss, and Kunze to a lesser extent, really add that final polish, such as bend angles, fine agitation points from threads, flanges, adapters and such, and of course the pump impacts. The latest edition explains these in clearer detail.
